Some New Facts About John Grimek

by Dr Frederick Tilney

John Grimek - America's Most Muscular Marvel a Scientist?

Yes, decidedly. And one of the world's greatest, too.

It is time for a little debunking and we quit deceiving ourselves. With all of the skill, genius, ability of our so-called 'scientists' who have helped contribute their efforts in building up this crumbling, tottering 'civilization' the human race is fast facing a serious decline. These are undeniable facts. So, what actually have our 'scientists' done for us? Very little. They have contributed much to building up a material empire, neglecting the most important factor of all -- the improvement of MAN himself . If and when their efforts have been concentrated on MAN, they are generally in the wrong direction, -- there is nothing 'scientific' that I can see in using such unnatural things to restore health as the use of drugs, medicines, serums, injections. They never did and never will build a superior type of humanity. Such measures only suppress symptoms, which is NOT building vibrant health.

If you can show me a more superior specimen of humanity than John Grimek I would like to see him. Grimek has concentrated on the most vital subject of all - building a PERFECT BODY, and he used NATURAL means to do it. This achievement - I claim - enables him to rank as one of the world's GREATEST SCIENTISTS. He has really done something valuable, worth while for mankind by showing us and demonstrating on himself - how to build a superior race, a finer, better kind of healthier, stronger, happier humanity.

If we had a world of Grimek's it would really be a glorious world. We would really have a Paradise on earth here and now. Millions of folks everywhere love, respect and admire John Grimek. He has lived at my home for considerable periods of time, as one of our family, and I can assure you he is as fine a fellow I ever met, his personality is as outstanding as his physique. This extraordinary combination of rare qualities makes him all the more a great scientist. A true scientist.

Civilization as we know it, is unnatural. It is all contrary to God's plan for humanity. Civilization ultimately destroys itself. It always has in the past, and right at this moment we can witness it happening now. What has become of the great Lemurian Civilization - of Atlantis - the Babylonian Empire, the Grecian, Egyptian, and Roman Empires? Where are the mighty works of any of their scientists, today? For many thousands of years scientists in these various epochs have tried to change the world, concentrated on building material things. This invariably results in such a complex, unnatural state for man the whole system collapses. Many present day scientists have contributed to civilization which has almost reached its zenith; and, according to prophecies, will collapse, too. What good is this super civilization when it brings about man's own destruction and untimely end?

With all of our vaunted scientific achievements we have more sickness, diseases, mental turmoil, nervousness, unrest, frustrations, unhappiness, misery, grief, upsets, crime, and to crown it all it seems that the people of the whole world are set about destroying each other, and each nation is concentrating on the manufacture of 'merchandise of death' - scientists are engaged in developing means for eliminating mankind. This is all contrary to Natural Law, God's eternal Law.

God is Life, Love, Goodness, Beauty, Harmony, Health, the DIVINE Spirit manifesting in all Nature. A true, a real 'scientist' is one who expresses the most of this DIVINE Principle first in themselves, then whose 'influence' encourages it in others. Who can deny that John Grimek does not express and demonstrate these qualities?

What Makes Grimek Great ?

The average person sees only Grimek's mighty muscles, or sees photographs of them. But these are not the real Grimek. They are external symbols proving what a true scientist Grimek actually is. There are a few people who will make such a stupid, dumb remark as "all brawn and no brains". We shall see. Folks who make such statements are either jealous, (it's 'sour-grapes' with them) or they are decidedly ignorant, or trying to excuse themselves for their own physical 'apology', For anyone to say brains are not required to secure a development the equal of John Grimek's simply do not know what they are talking about. It is Grimek's superior brain power that gave him his muscular power.

We are supposed to be made in the image of God, meaning we are intended to become perfect . Just how many perfect physical specimens have you ever seen? How many 'scientists' who have a perfect body have you ever met? Grimek's present status didn't just happen. His beautiful body, uncanny strength, superb health all represent many things you cannot see. They are evidences of a marvelously developed brain. And to my knowledge, no one ever before, has publicly mentioned these important facts.

To build such a magnificent physique demanded in the first place -- the right spirit . A definite aim . A lofty ambition. It required mighty power-of-will . Intense concentration. Reason . . . knowing what he was doing and why. Tremendous faith . Rare determination . Great courage. Unquenchable confidence . Stick-to-it-iveness. High ideals. A knowledge of natural laws. Unlimited poise . The desire to express beauty . Mastery over conflicting temptations . If these are not evidences of unusual and superior Brain Power -- what are? Perhaps the morons who prattle about the 'no brains' will 'shut up' from now on. What have they to show for their great brain power, anyway?

If you think muscles such as Grimek's can be coaxed without all these qualities of Brain Power then you are only deluding yourself. Supposing his muscles served no useful purpose, the idea I am pointing out is, that to acquire them, meant bringing out to the full the finest qualities of brain power. And to develop such worth while qualities is really the highest culture -- bringing out the very best in one -- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. If we had a world full of such men we would indeed have a Golden Race of Gods.

College presidents, professors, bankers, lawyers, judges, industrialists, doctors, scientists, teachers, ministers, publishers are supposed to be 'smart' men. Remove the mask of clothes and how rare it is if you ever see one who is 100% healthy, 100% well developed physically and who understands God's natural laws! I doubt if I would be far wrong if I stated that the big majority - not all - but the greater number of such men are sick with one thing or another, and in a show down, most of them would be ashamed of their physical condition. So with all of their knowledge. .. what does it amount to when they have not mastered the first law of scientific living?

How few know anything about the science of living! Grimek has made the science of living his business. After all, what is more important? John Grimek has proven himself to be one of the world's greatest scientists. He has mastered the most vital science of all - the utalization of natural laws pertaining to man himself .

A man has real power when he influences another person for good , to help the other person become a better man. Countless thousands of men all over the world have been 'influenced for good' by John Grimek. His mighty power is far reaching indeed. Thousands are leading cleaner, nobler, better, healthier, stronger, more wholesome lives because of Grimek's influence. They, too, are utilizing the various phases of brain power; and in turn, influencing others. If only we had a few million Grimeks to influence all the rest of mankind to build a better body, to acquire a kindlier, a cheerful, happy and contented disposition, the sincere desire to apply the Golden Rule, to live clean, to live in harmony with nature, to eliminate the hate, greed, evil, sickness and suffering - what a glorious world this would be !

It is not so much his physical power -- how many hundred pounds he can toss overhead -- that is trivial compared to the power he exerts by influencing and inspiring, encouraging and enthusing the youth to make the best of themselves . They are striving to be true to themselves, sincere, faithful, honorable, attractive, healthy. Any scientist who can influence so many thousands of folks everywhere to be better and finer and nobler is justified in being acknowledged as a 'great' scientist. The world would be greatly enriched with many more Grimeks, many more health educators who teach the true science of living , for surely they are the real saviours of mankind - saving humanity from sickness, suffering, evil, disease, distress, and all the negative conditions brought on by 'civilization'.

John Grimek is not only the world's greatest muscular scientist but as pointed out -- he has mastered the science of living . There is no other achievement so essential. And as Emerson exclaimed: "Give me health and the day and I shall make the pomp of emperors look ridiculous!" After all, the foundation of all success, all happiness lies in robust health. Everything we live for is so dependent on sound health, a vigorous body, well trained muscles, a responsive physique that it becomes our. first duty to get and keep in superb physical condition. !t was Carlyle who said: "There is no kind of an achievement equal to perfect. health. What to it are nuggets or millions!" Is it not logical to say that therefore anyone who achieves the health, strength, beauty of body such as John Grimek enjoys must be a great scientist?

What Henry Ford has done in the industrial world -- what Edison did in the electrical world, what John Wanamaker did in the merchandising world, John Grimek is equally as outstanding in the physical world. In contest after contest, year after year, no one else has been able to compare with him. He stands alone and exemplifies the masterpiece the Creator intended we should be. Countless numbers of young men were making a daub out of their lives, but the great Grimek inspired them to become 'masterpieces' too - and they lifted themselves up to a higher level of manhood .

Men, like Grimek, who have risen to high places, have usually pictured themselves in these positions long before they attained them.

Here are a few thoughts John Grimek would like to leave with you:

"Whatever your mental attitude is, you build it into your life. As long as you assume the idea that you are a weakling, a runt, a nobody, then there is no power on earth that can make you think you are a somebody. If you constantly condemn yourself, feel inferior, unworthy, a poor specimen of humanity - nothing can help you. Always think well of yourself. Carry a wholesome, ideal picture of yourself as you long to be. never allow an imperfect, dwarfed picture of yourself to come into your mind. you are the result of what you habitually think. Look in the mirror, see the reflection of the out-picturing of your thought. If you are dissatisfied with what you see, first change your thought; for remember, action follows the thought. See yourself as you long to be. Your life patterns after the model you carry in your mid. What you visualize regarding yourself, your future, are being built into your life and you are constantly creating the model -- perfecting and beautifying it with your hopes, your expectations of better things -- or marring the model by your doubts, your fears, your attitude of thinking 'what's the use' ? Do not allow your ideals to be shattered by falling into the clutch of indifferent, shiftless habits. No matter what your defect or deficiency, persist in holding the image of your perfect self. Think of yourself as perfect , as strong, vigorous, muscular, manly. Keep your mind filled with such thoughts as these, and they must, by the very law of attraction, force out their opposites. Let no week go without training, and each time you train, give it every ounce of concentrated energy and effort you've got. This, persistently applied will bring you the results you seek."

What an inspiring message! And how true it is. I've taken many outstanding photographs of the great Grimek, but beforehand I have seen him make sketches of the various poses he wants to get. Then he will practice posing before a mirror till it is correct in every detail. Before being photographed he will often strike the pose many times till he can sense he is in the exact position, then he signals for me to snap the picture. So you see, he even carries out his philosophy - of picturing himself as he longs to be - before being photographed. no wonder most all his photos are of "prize-winning" quality. And he is as fussy about the background as he is about himself, so that the complete photograph will be a real picture, harmonious and beautiful.

This minute attention to all details, no matter how seemingly unimportant, particularly in his training and his method of training is without doubt the key factor in making John Grimek the world's greatest scientist of body culture and muscular perfection.
